The overall body length is 20 to 25 cm, and the tail length is 10 to 15 cm. There is an eyebrow-shaped appendage above the eyes that often extends along the back to the pelvis. The eyes are covered with transparent scales and have no eyelids, so instead of being able to detect light, this appendage slightly droops to partially cover the eyes. This can easily cause the eyeballs to dry out, so they often lick their eyes with their tongues to maintain moisture and cleanliness.
